Day 1: Arrive in La Paz, transfer to Hotel
You will be met upon arrival in La Paz, either at the airport or the bus station and have a transfer to your chosen hotel. Depending on your arrival time you might want to explore the City a little on foot, stopping for a coca tea to help you acclimatize to the altitude (3,660 metres above sea level in Central La Paz). Spend the night at our Superior hotel in La Paz.
Day 2: Morning Zongo visit, on to Huatajata
In the morning you will be driven to Zongo, in the heart of the Cordillera de Los Andes. You will pass 6000m mountains, and pass colourful lagoons in the Zongo Valley. You will go as far as the base camp for climbers to Huayna Potosi and have time for a walk along one of the trails. Enjoy lunch in this beautiful location. In the afternoon continue your journey alongside the Cordillera Real Mountain range to Huatajata. Spend some time at the Natural Spa where thousand year old methods and treatments are used. Join an optional trip to a Kallawaya traditional healer before dinner. In the evening visit the observatory to view the southern constellations through a telescope donated by NASA. Spend the night at Inca Utama Hotel & Spa.
Day 3: Hydrofoil to Moon & Sun Islands
This morning you will take a hydrofoil from Huatajata to visit Moon and Sun Islands on Lake Titicaca. The first stop (weather permitting) is the isolated Moon Island, where you can explore another archeological complex, part of which has recently been reconstructed. Then you will continue by hydrofoil to Sun Island. Upon arrival at Sun Island you will be met by representatives from the Eco-lodge along with a llama to help carry your bags up the hill to the Lodge. Lunch will be served when you arrive and you have a free afternoon to explore the area or take an optional walk with your Guide to the Pre-Inca ruins of Pilcocaina. Spend the night at Posada del Inca Eco-Lodge on Sun Island.
Day 4: Hydrofoil to Huatajata
You will have time this morning to enjoy breakfast on the beautiful sunny terrace looking over Lake Titicaca. You will be travelling back to Huatajata by hydrofoil today, and have time in the afternoon to visit any of the cultural exhibits and museums at the Inca Utama complex that you did not see on day 2. Spend the night at Inca Utama Hotel & Spa.
Day 5: Overland Huatajata to Coroico (via La Paz)
This morning you will leave the blue waters of Lake Titicaca behind to head back alongside the Cordillera Real de los Andes mountain range, to the city of La Paz. Continuing to climb you will reach the icy peaks of the Andes, before descending to the subtropical zone of the Yungas. The cultural characteristic of this place is the symbiosis between African and Bolivian Aymara. Coroico is a picturesque village with fantastic views. You will be staying here for 2 nights. Spend the night in our Superior hotel in Coroico.
Day 6: Activities in the Yungas wet forest mountains
You have a full day of activities in the Yungas wet forest mountains today with an English-speaking Guide. Depending on the weather and local conditions your Guide will suggest appropriate activities. You may visit coffee plantations at Murata or learn about the Afro-Bolivian culture on an alternative walk. Lunch and dinner are provided at the hotel. Spend the night in our Superior hotel in Coroico.
Day 7: Morning activities then return to La Paz
Your Guide will suggest activities the morning, and after lunch at the hotel, you will head back to La Paz. After checking in to your hotel, the rest of the afternoon is free to relax or maybe do some last minute souvenir shopping. Spend the night at our Superior hotel in La Paz.
Day 8: Depart La Paz
After a buffet breakfast at your hotel, you will have a private transfer to the airport at the appropriate time to check-in for your flight home.
